I haven't posted here in a long time. It makes me sad. I have the application on my phone because truth is I am never near a computer for personal use these days. I still don't post. I think I always think I have to catch up, and my brain shuts off.
Why do I care if I don't post?
This blog has been a diary of sorts for me. It recorded the last (gulp) seven years of our life. I have visited it countless times to check on facts, to see what we were doing a year or two ago. It's been our baby book, our life documentation. So I want to get back to it. One post at a time..

2013 so far..
Busy, busy year so far.
Quincy got some of the cold going around and we spent a couple days in the hospital with him. So hard to see your baby sick, and staying in the hospital. Luckily he was well quickly and for that I'm thankful.
My Niners made it to the Superbowl.Hard to see them loose. Since it was the day before my 33rd birthday I was hoping they would gift me a win. In the end they have come so far in two short seasons and hopefully these are building blocks.
My birthday was lowkey. I usually stretch the celebrations out a bit. Devyn took me out for dinner on the Saturday before, then some friends came over to watch the game on Sunday. Monday I worked and then Keith cooked us dinner. He got me a cake, and cards from the boys. It's so funny the kids are more excited than anyone else, and made us relight the candles and sing happy birthday 3 times. Miles calls cupcakes "Happy Happy" :)
So we are off to a running start in 2013. I'll do another update on Darrian's first report card, and we start
Little League next week. Hope your all having a great 2013 so far.

Christmas 2012
So I want to blog more this year. We will see how that goes. Here is a Christmas Recap a month late :)
We had a nice quiet Christmas. I had vacation, and we spent a lot of time just enjoying our little family. This was the first year we did a fake tree. So happy we did. So much easier, and did not have to worry about it drying out and becoming a fire hazard.
Darrian was VERY into Christmas this year. Kids make it so fun. The twins were also more aware of what was going on. They loved the Christmas tree lights.
On the present front :
Miles loved his cars
Quincy loved the Jake and the Pirates ship
Both loved this cube with beads
Darrian loved his ninjago Lloyd and scooter
We went to church, Quincy enjoyed the singing. My favorite tradition is loading up in the car, getting hot chocolate, and driving around looking at Christmas lights.
We enjoyed quiet relaxed meals at home, and family time. It was perfect.

A day on the farm
There is this place in the Berkeley hills called Little Farm. It is a little farm (duh) that is free to visitors, and you
get to feed animals. They have several types of animals cows, goats, bunnies, chickens, ducks, and pigs. You can bring celery or lettuce and feed the cows When I was on Thanksgiving vacation I took the boys. I have taken Darrian before but he was not a huge fan of the smell. The twins though they LOVE animals, so I was excited to see their reaction. Miles was besides himself.lol I am pretty sure he wants a cow for Christmas. Here are these huge animals, and he just walked right up with his celery and fed them. Was reaching through the fence to pet them, and squealing. It was the cutest thing ever. Quincy was this way about the ducks and the chickens. Darrian stayed back from the cows, but likes the bunnies.
We had a great time, the rain stayed away for a bit so we could enjoy it. Can't wait to take them back.

Super bee
Darrian has this thing in his class called Super Bee. It's given to a student each day for showing super behavior. Darrian has gotten it three times now, and each time he is so proud. I am proud of his efforts to do well, and be recognized for it. When you have super bee you write in a journal about what you and super bee did. It is his favorite part, mine too.

Apple Hill
Apple Hill = fall. There is something special about that place. It makes me feel better. I especially love going with people I love. I went a few weeks ago with the Mom's and it was so packed, I think the sweet spot is just after Halloween rush. The weather worked perfect both times. It was fun to go back with the kids there is so much for them to do there. Darrian loved horse back riding and his nature hike with his Godfather Chris. I loved watching Lily feed the goats, so sweet.
I can't wait to go back next year.
