December revisited..

One of my goals this year is to update the blog more, easier said than done but I am going to try. December and the holidays came and went with a blur. We did manage to get lots of holiday spirit in, and Darrian was really into it this year. We introduced Elf on the Shelf and also a activity advent calendar that was a huge hit. Darrian was asking into Jan. what our number for the day said. We also went to see the school play at our church. We had Christmas Eve dinner at home, set out cookies for Santa, and on Christmas we spent the day with the boys godparents and the girls. I managed to get a few pictures of the boys Christmas morning, the babies actually woke up first and we had to wake Darrian up before they ripped open the gifts without him. :)

Cathching up November recap

Here I am playing catch up again, story of my life these days. At some point I will get it under control, someday right??

Here we go, November was filled with a lot of fun, and new things for the kids. The babies turned 11 months old, and started taking a bath in the big bathtub.

Quincy started taking steps about 4-5 at a time. He LOVES to climb. The couch, a box, a stool... it gives me heart attacks, but thankfully in Nov he also mastered getting down feet first and not head first. That is a huge milestone! He loves to eat, not picky at all. He has a great sense of humor and crinkles his nose when he smiles or laughs. He loves to sing and dance, currently obsessed with a Santa that sings silent night. His favorite toy is a ball. He loves to chase them, throw them, or carry them around.

Darrian is working on his numbers and letters at school and is pretty close to spelling his name on his own. He talks all the time, and has a imagination. He is in love with all things superhero. He is really into Christmas and hoping Santa will bring him a batman cave and scooter. He learned about what being "thankful" means, and on his list of things he was thankful for included his family, his toys, and spider man.
Miles became a full fledged walker this month, going all around the house toddling about. He is the snuggle bug of the bunch, comes over to get hugs and kisses then he is off. He is more picky in his eating habits, and finds lots of laughs in his brothers. He waves hi, and makes the "all done" sign. He does not like shoes, refuses to walk or crawl even in them. He doesn't really like socks either, he takes them off right after I put them on then goes over to Quincy and tries to take his off too. He thinks everyone should be barefoot.

We spent our thanksgiving at Chris and Julie's house. Julie cooked a turkey, we added some sides. We had a lot of fun and kids had fun playing.

trying to get a picture of all six kids was pretty impossible:

Halloween

This year's Halloween seemed to last a while :) Darrian decided early on to be spiderman and my Mom got him a costume back in Sept. he wore it a couple times and it started to rip.. I had to order another costume from Amazon (that he wore 3-4 times for events and it started to rip) for actual Halloween events. At least he isn't the type yet to change his mind a bunch of times.

Quincy and Miles were Eeyore and Tigger, costumes a friend let me borrow. They were so cute in them I didn't want to take them off. :) We had a few fun events we went to. Darrian got to wear his costume to church for a parade, then we went to trunk or treat a free event in our city for the kids, and he had a school party.. and finally Trick or treating with our friends and their kids. All these events allowed me to get lots of pictures and Darrian is already talking about what he would want to be next year.
This picture is a free picture they took at the city's Trunk or Treat event

A Merry Christmas...

We had a great Christmas in the Thornton house. I had the whole week off work, what a splendid treat. We filled out time with relaxation, time with friends, and lots of holiday activities. It just went by too fast. Here were some pictures I captured over the week...

We went to look at Christmas Lights, I can't find the pictures I took. It was a lot of fun, we went to this community in San Ramon where everyone does the lights. Darrian stayed awake this year and really enjoyed all the lights, and the cars parked in the drive ways lol. He loves cars. We also went to a playdate hosted by one of "Mom" friends :). Darrian had a great time playing with all the trains, her house is like toysrus for toddlers. A slice of heaven for Darrian.

Christmas Eve we went to Julie & Chris house. Location changed, but we were with them again on Christmas Eve and that is all that mattered to us. Although there seem to be some fall outs with other relationships this past year, they have been there for everything and I am thankful for them. We all are. Darrian had a big crush on Roni, and really attached to her. I felt kind of bad for Roni since he was dragging her all over the house. At one point she left to go wrap gifts and I had to tell Darrian she was in the potty because he wanted me to go find her. Does it really start this early? At least he has good taste.

Darrian checking out the poly pockets to see what all the hype is about.

Awh giving a hug to Ivy.

Ju-JU and cutie Lily.

The kids playing and Darrian with Roni.

When we got home Christmas Eve Darrian opened one gift (his new PJs) and we set out cookies and Milk for Santa. Darrian kept telling me they were HIS cookies and proceeded to eat them. But only the middle out of them, that is his favorite part the rest he left for Santa. After he was in bed we brought the bike out, I mean Santa delivered the bike, filled the stockings, and put the gifts under the tree.

Christmas Morning Darrian slept in till about 7:30 am, his normal time. Wonder when the days of him getting up at 5am for Santa will start? He came out and saw the bike, so cute. I got it on video I will upload it this week sometime. He loved all the gifts he got from everyone, and was very spoiled. Auntie Devyn stopped by to visit and brought Darrian some fun gifts, all my friend's got Darrian a great gifts. So generous. That night I made a great Christmas dinner if I do say so myself :) and we relaxed. Saturday Sofia came by to visit and bring Darrian some gifts, very sweet of her. Santa treated me pretty good too, OK so Mom is still my Santa Lol. Got some new shoes and gift cards all that I love. Hope you all had a great Christmas week... now ready for the new year ? Oy.
