My little Angel ..
How could I resist? I ran into a store near our house and saw these and just HAD to! Is he not the cutest Angel EVERRRR!?

Great weekend..

We had a really good weekend. It started out on the right foot, with a pedicure with the Mom's. There were 10 of us total, we arrived at the place with Bellini's in hand. There is a Mom Laura that I chat about politics with over IM and she and I were talking about the debate. Another older woman chimed in and it was nice to hear her views. As the older woman was leaving she commented on how nice it was to talk with a young educated woman about politics. It was a VERY nice compliment. After pedi's we headed over to CPK for lunch and talk, and then wandered for a little bit in Broadway plaza. It is so nice to have met these woman and I always have a great time with them. It is nice to be able to call them friends.

After pedi's I went home to pick up Baby D and we headed over to the Fallfest at church. D danced to the band, and we picked up some books at the book sale. It was super hot so we ran by the store to grab stuff for K to make dinner, and headed home.

Darrian and I played outside and I took a bunch of pictures. I got these angel wings and took pictures of him in them, and Julie let me borrow their chair and I used that too. A mini photo shoot.

Sunday we ran around in the morning, then came home and watched football. I made Sunday dinner "Grown up Mac and Cheese" with a spring salad, and Mom came over.

A very nice weekend. Here are pictures..

The other night I gave D a lollipop I got in SF. It was Halloween colors so it seemed appropriate. He wasn't that impressed, licked it about two times and then decided chewing on the stick side was much more fun (he is getting his 1 year molars and they are really bugging him) . I managed to get a couple pics :).

Love this smile :)

Baby D's One Year Check-up

Friday Darrian had his one year check up, when did he get to be 1 ?? Still can't believe it. Dr. said he is doing amazing. She said he is all the size and smarts of a 15 month old. Hard to think of how far he has come from that little peanut born a year ago. She was HIGHLY impressed with his words, pointing, clapping, patty-cake skills.. and on and on. He , of course, was a ham during the visit.

He weighs 26 lbs. and is 31 inches tall.

His words are : Dada, Mama, More, Hi, Hey, Yay, bye, ball, baby (new one), and up.

He isn't super picky, and has now adjusted to milk instead of formula. She said to get him avocados and fish.. so we will work on introducing that.

He gives LOTS of kisses. Nothing can make our day more than him stop playing, and strolling over to give a kiss before going back to what he was doing. Although the times not as often he still snuggles a bunch, which makes my day. I love it when he lays his head on me and just lets me cuddle him.

If there is one thing I would love to see him loose is this high pitch yell he gives out when he wants something. She said it was normal since he is still learning the words, and to try and read the ques before it gets to that point. We are working on it.

(lots of updates coming from the weekend, and lots of pictures.)

Here are a couple pictures from Janessa, one of the mommies at the photo GTG on Saturday. She had this really cool funky lens, I love the affects it gives so I may have to check it out.

Crazy Busy Weekend..

This weekend was a pretty busy one. Friday night we did not do much, hung around and relaxed after work. Saturday I got up super early to go to the twin's sale at a local church. I wasn't very impressed by the selection, and actually most of it was for infants *darn*. After that I ran to safeway to get groceries for a recipe I wanted to try out of Bon Apetite. It was a slow cooker recipe so I went home, and had dinner going at 9 am. Feels so accomplished. That afternoon Baby D and I ran to Target, then we went to play at one of our favorite parks Matteo's Dream in Concord. It has a water mister which D loves, except he loves to stand in direct fire and get soaked. He always has a good time though. Mom came over for dinner, the recipe turned out really good.

Sunday morning we went to a playdate in a park in Martinez, it was a photo gtg. Where the Mom's got together with our camera's and played with them.. tried out new things. There were three new babies, all about 3 mo. old. so cute. After that we headed home to rinse off the dirt from the park, change, and headed out with Grandma to the preview of the Academy of Sciences in SF. I had bought a membership pass for D's birthday. I figure between there and the Oakland Zoo membership we won't be bored on a weekend. The members got a sneak peek of the place. They did an amazing job, and there was lots to see and do. After that we came home and crashed.. super tired.

here are some pictures from our crazy weekend...

D loves to run through the mister with his mouth open :)

A little Peek-a-boo

Super tired after the park

My Little Landscaper...

Baby D hasn't been feeling that great this week. The Teething Gods are back in full affect and not making him feel great. One more tooth broke through on the bottom left, bringing the total to 7 teeth. Now that he can sit with his chair facing forward he sees me when I am getting in the car after work, and says "hi". This week we went to dinner with Sol, Jouquin's Mom, so we could let her borrow the portable highchair we have. Baby D wasn't feeling great at all and should have stayed home. Ended up with a mess on our hands that would have scared any non-parent person right out of parenthood. I was actually pretty happy with how I responded, and got things cleaned. Not easy.

So after that we have been staying home the rest of the week, laying low. Last night Darrian and I went out back and played with his bubble blowing lawn mower that Debbie got him. He was also sporting the outfit Auntie Dev got him. Honestly, I know he is mine, but how cute is he??

We have a pretty busy weekend ahead of us, Garage sales, Play dates, and the preview opening of the new CA Academy of Sciences in SF. FUN! Lots of pictures next week..

Here are some from last night..

Look at this look! It is the teething Gods I think.. geesh.

Arrive in Style..
Who said you have to get to your destination and then go to a hotel/friends house and THEN go out to the club? :) Now you can just get ready on the plane and step off in club form???
Can you imagine being the person sitting next to the girl who is BLOW drying or CURLING her hair next to you? haha
I saw this picture and write up on Virgin on another blog. A rave review, hip music, plugs for your laptop, or Iphone at your seats.. purple club lighting. Sounds sorta like Soulplane huh? ANNNDDD it is about $138 rt. from LAX to SFO.. I am just saying. Maybe Southwest will be a thing of the past.

Here is the article on it. (and a couple pics) http://tinyurl.com/43ewee

Birthday Party Part III Smash cake

Birthday Party Part III Smash cake

Baby D got to try chocolate for the first time in his life at his party, I think he was a fan. We had to dump water on him to get the cake off him after. The talented Kelly M. took this pictures for me with my camera.

The smash cake was melting in the heat

Dancing to Happy Birthday.

Daddy helped him smash , then he went alone.

After the cake baby D opened a gift at the request of Auntie Julie, it was a gift from his godparents, godsisters, Lynda, and Grandma.. a PBK anywhere chair with his name on it!
